Hey Alice! That's so much for reading the blog! I don't mind sharing the pattern at all! Basically you just cast on how ever many stitches works for your head. Mine is 58 I think. You knit the entire thing on circular needles. Then you switch to double pointed needles as you are decreasing stitches for the crown.
The crown: The first round of decreasing you alternate knitting 1 then knit 2 together to the end of the row. If you end up with an extra stitch just knit it. Next row knit normally. Next row knit 2 together to the end of the row. Next row knit all stitches normally. Next row knit 2 together to the end of the row. Next row knit all stitches normally.
You keep alternating knitting 2 together and knitting normally row by row until you have about 6-9 stitches left on your needles. Then you just weave your yard through those and tie it off.
It's a pretty simple pattern and it goes quickly. I used european size 4 needles and I was done in like 4 hours. I hope you make a great hat!
Now you just nerd a black one and you can be the Deutsche Banner!
ReplyDeleteOh good point!
